Meta, who announced the meeting, said the topic of discussion was increased capacities and co-ordination between the two states to combat human trafficking.
I developed a warm meeting today with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, who honoured us with her participation. We share the same assessment that the institutions of both countries, particularly those implementing ones, should increase capacities and better co-ordinate in the joint fight against human trafficking, as well as any other type of traffic, threatening national security”, Meta wrote.
He added that it is also very necessary to exchange experiences for effective legal protection, for all victims of trafficking, offering them greater access and unconditional assistance.
Osman today has participated in the international conference in Tirana, on the subject “The actual trafficking trends of human beings in the Western Balkans”.
“Bashka with US senators and congressmen, representatives of international and non-governmental organisations dealing with the fight against human trafficking, discussed the current trend in the state, regional and international context. Trafficking in human beings is not only a phenomenon to be dealt with by legal and institutional prism. Trafficking means a lost opportunity for personal development and advancement, a life away from school banks or family members of loved ones, means suffering, pain, despair. We must destroy the chains of this crime before they destroy the fate of more people”, Osmani wrote.
