About 24 thousand seniors are expected to undergo this year's state prom exam, which will be held on just one day, June 18th. Meanwhile, the number of seniors could change, as those who have not passed the test last year may also be submitted for this exam. The Media Council in the Ministry of Education, Iliriana Pyla, told Radio Kosovo that the Matura State Commission is at the conclusion of all preparations for organising this exam.
The “Test will be organised in just one day. This test will contain four subjects, such as native language, English and mathematics, while the fourth subject is electoral. Educators have already begun preparing students for the prom test, and we hope that good results” will be achieved, Pylla said.
Meanwhile, education-field connoisseurs say changes in organising the senior test are necessary, as they are in the best interests of the process. expert Mustafe Kadriu told Radio Kosovo that until a standard is reached, positive changes are best made, not out of reach for foreign assessments.
When the test is organised, the purpose for what this test is being made must be achieved. The main goal is to differentiate students and point them in the certificate. The other goal is to see the level of knowledge for this level of schooling in achievement. If the goal is met, then the changes are also reasonable”, Kadriu said.
As for the results of the senior test, Kadriu said the results are generally real, not excluding certain cases where concessions may have been made. While, he stressed that measures should be taken in terms of the state exam management manner. The Ministry of Education has not yet provided details as to how many centres the test will be organised and how many administrators will oversee this process, while the quality criterion will remain the same.
