Since the beginning of the war, the supposed clandestine family of the Russian president has promoted a series of largely groundless speculations.
In the centre are Putin's supposed relationship with a formergimnaste Alina Kabaeva and the supposed children that they put together three, four or six, depending on the source some or all of whom allegedly live in a luxury, high-security house in the Alps.
It turns out that “this vortex of gossip contains at least one genuine grain”: According to Tribune de Genève, a Russian-Svicerian doctor helped Kabaeva give birth to two sons, the first of whom was born in 2015 in Santão, the clinic in Sorengo, a municipality near Luganos, Ticino.
The second child was born in Moscow in 2019, with the help of the same doctor.
While both boys are believed to be Putin's, the topic has always been taboo to Russian media. A Moscow newspaper that discovered the vicinity between the president and Kabaeva in 2008 was closed.
