Foreign Affairs Minister Donika Grovalla has completed her first visit to Israel with several meetings with representatives of the state's Parliament.
In the context of a bilateral visit to Israel, the deputy prime minister visited the Israeli Parliament yesterday, where she met with various Knesset representatives.
According to MPJ, during meeting with Mr. Ram Ben Barak, chairman of the Commission for Foreign Affairs and Protection, Minister Grovall underlined the specific “nature of relations between Israel and Kosovo and provided a description of the possibilities and need for further expansion and deepening of them in the future”.
The particular “emphasis was placed during talks on geopolitical challenges created by the Russian war in Ukraine and the risk of destabilising the Western Balkans”, the MPJ report said.
Gervala also met Zeev Elkin, Minister of Jerusalem and Heritage.
“They have discussed a better and effective involvement of various diaspora and mining generations. Minister Gervalla stressed that Kosovo can benefit greatly from Israel's long and impressive experience in this field of”, the MPJ says.
Geralla has also met with Ali Salalha, chairman of the Israeli Friendship Group Kosovo. In this case, MPJ says Gervala stressed the need for more intense parliamentary co-operation between the Knesset and the Kosovo Assembly.
The delegation of the Republic of Kosovo concluded the day with a reception at the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Jerusalem, attended by various representatives of Israeli economy and society, as well as representatives of the Albanian diaspora in Israel. Representatives of the Republic of Kosovo in Israel, Mrs. Ines Demiri, during her welcoming speech, highlighted in particular the very friendly spirit of relations between Israel and Kosovo and highlighted the great potential of future co-operation”, the MPJ report said.
The Kosovo delegation during the three-day visit to Israel also accompanied Israel's ambassador for Kosovo, Tamin Ziv and the director for the Balkans near Israel's Foreign Ministry, Dani Orian.
The delegation of the Republic of Kosovo visited the historical and archaeological centers of Jerusalem. From Israel, Deputy Prime Minister Grovall has travelled to Brussels and will attend tonight's dinner organised by EU Foreign Policy High Representative Josep Borrell with leaders of Western Balkan states”, the MPJ reports.
The opening of the Kosovo Embassy in Jerusalem was seen in the September 4th agreement, when Kosovo and Serbia signed two documents for normalising economic reports in the presence of then-American President Donald Trump at the White House.
