The number of dead dolphins on the Black Sea increases: Scientists Believe It Comes From War in Ukraine

Researchers believe that increasing noise pollution in the Black Sea, caused by about 20 Russian warships and continued military activity, may have led dolphins to the Turkish and Bulgarian coasts, where they are trapped in high-number fishing nets, writes The Guardian, [...]
Since the beginning of the war, Turkey has registered an increase in the number of dolphin deaths (Delphinus dolphin) along its Black Sea coast. More than 80 animals were found dead along the country's western Black Sea area, in which case the Turkish Navy Humming Foundation, Todaviʹ, said that “is an extraordinary increase”.
The first investigations by Tovavi suggests that about half of these dolphins died after being stuck in fish nets. The fate of the other limb remains “a unanswered question”, according to Tudavi leader Dr. Bayram Ozturk, as no bullet strikes were found in their body.
The acoustic trauma may be one of the possibilities that come to mind”, Oztruk said, where he stressed that it is important to remain sceptic to that claim. “We have no evidence of what could cause a low underwater frequency on the Black Sea because we have never seen so many ships and so much noise for such a long time- and science always needs evidence”, he stressed. /Periscopi/
