In the case of Bujar Nishani's death, Kurti thanks him for granting him Albanian citizenship

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has been deeply grieved at the death of former Albanian President Bujar Nishani. He has said he is grateful that Nishani during his term has granted him Albanian citizenship.

Kurti has written on Facebook that Nishani will be remembered for his contribution to professional career as military and professor, deputy and minister.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of the life-sharing of former President of the Republic of Albania Bujar Nishani. He will be remembered for his contribution to professional career as military and professor, deputy and minister. During his term as president of the Republic of Albania, he worked for the modern Albanian state with caution and wisdom. With high national awareness engaged in intensifying the brotherly relations between Albania and Kosovo, he gave unhurt support to the Republic of Kosovo and our fellow countrymen everywhere”, Kurti wrote.

He said he is grateful to former President Nishani for granting him Albanian citizenship during his term.

“I am grateful for granting Albanian citizenship during his mandate. In these difficult days for the family, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and in my name, the most sincere condolences to the loss of the husband, Ers and Fiona to our father, and the entire Albanian nation to the president of our mother's state, said Kurti.
