Australia's new lab government has secured a majority in parliament, election analysts say.
The centre-left party, led by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, defeated Scott Morrison's conservative coalition in the May 21st elections.
A record vote for independents and small parties had made it uncertain whether Albanese would rule in his own right.
But he now has the 76 needed seats, following victories in tight races.
There is another story in the Senate, where the Albanian government will need mutual support to pass laws.
About a third of Australians voted for candidates outside the main parties, with increased support for the Green and Independents competing in climate platforms.
Albanese has promised a “constructive relationship with the expanded panel, despite no need to rely on their votes in the House of Representatives. Two countries there remain undecided.
He will announce his cabinet on Tuesday.
