“The application of the Republic of Kosovo to the Council of Europe is the necessary step for our state and the integration aimed at the Euro-Atlantic family. The Democratic League of Kosovo will support this process in all its political capacities”, he has said.
He has added that, as a member of the EPP, the LDK will take advantage of all its communication opportunities on the issue.
“As members of the EPP, we will use all of our communication channels in this direction. So today, right after the official application, I've started a letter to the president of the EPP. Donald Tusk. In this letter I have requested the unremitting support of our European family for Kosovo's application; necessary support in the Committee of Ministers and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe where EPP deputies make up the largest political group today”, the LDK's first added.
He has added that the LDK believes that Kosovo's membership in the EC strengthens democracy, as well as affects regional stability for the entire Western Balkans.
This message will be closely conveyed to the next EPP Congress this month in Rotterdam. There the LDK and I will have the case of addressing in word and meeting with state leaders and leaders of EPP member parties from all over Europe.
