I don't trust the world anymore. After what we have seen in Ukraine, I have lost confidence in certain countries and in some leaders. We don't believe their words. After the escalation of the war from Russia, we don't trust our neighbours”, Zelensky said, when asked about the phrase “Never in”, used by leaders every year on Holocaust Memorial Day.
In fact, the Ukrainian president went even further, stressing that he no longer believes in international documents and laws: “Even documents I don't trust anymore, because we have a Memorandum Budapest, but it's proven to be just a piece of paper, which is not worth at all”.
Zelensky pointed out to CNN that he trusts only in practical things and in Ukrainian people: we have become pragmatic. If you are our friends, give us weapons, help us with money, stop Russia. You can do this if you're our partners. We at the moment trust only ourselves, our people, in our army”.
