Several Russian air strikes hit Ukrainian capital Kiev on Thursday as UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres visited the town to meet with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In a night-long speech, Zelensky condemned the attack, saying much about Russia's true attitude towards global institutions, the BBC writes.
Zelensky accused the Russian leadership of trying to bring down the UN and everything that the organisation” represents, adding that “requires a strong response”.
Russian “Sulmets in other cities across the country, including Fasvi and Odessa, testify once again that we cannot leave our guard down”, he said.
We can't think the war is over. We still have to fight. We still have to exorcise the invaders, he added.
Zelensky stressed that it was important for the UN chief to visit mass cemetery locations in Borodyanca and the Kiev region, to see firsthand what Russian invaders had done there.
