“During the night, high-accurate air strikes have destroyed a ammunition plant near the town of Brovar in the Kiev region”, Konasenkov said, Reuters reports.
Earlier, the head of this city had confirmed that there had been air attacks on infrastructure in this area, but had not provided details to victims or damage destroyed.
Local media have also reported that on the morning of April 17th, explosions have been heard in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.
Days earlier, Russia had pledged to attack Kiev in response to what it said were Ukrainian attacks on Russian regions located near the Ukrainian border.
Russia, which has begun its unprovocational invasion of Ukraine on February 24th, has said it will recently focus its operations east of Ukraine, where the Donbas region, in which, since 2014, Moscow-backed separatists have fought against Kiev forces. / REL
