Russia is closing the offices of 15 Western non-governmental organisations, including two major rights organisations Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.
The Russian Justice Ministry said the decision was made due to Russian law violations, without specifying details.
Amnesty International Director Agnes Callamard said it was the last on the long list of organisations being punished for telling the truth, reports Bbc.

She said Amnesty would double efforts to exhibit what she described as a “serious human rights breach within and outside the country”.
“The authorities are deeply mistaken if they believe that closing our office in Moscow will prevent our work on documenting and exposing human rights violations”, she said.
Russia strengthened its already restrictive media law after taking over Ukraine, introducing a new law threatening to imprison anyone Russia thinks has spread false news “to the armed forces. /Telegraphy/
