KFOR has declared it is implementing its mandate at the UN in this case, stemming from Resolution 1244.
) KFOR remains fully focused on the daily implementation of its UN mandate (which stems from UN Security Council Resolution 1244 in 1999) to ensure a secure environment and to ensure freedom of movement for all communities living in Kosovo”, it is said in response to Periscope.
A departure from KFOR in Kosovo reportedly has occurred during April 26th-28th.
“KFOR supports the efforts of institutions in Kosovo to strengthen rule of law and curb criminal activities in Kosovo. We continue to support the Kosovo Police to prevent smuggling and trafficking activities, even in northern Kosovo. During April 26th-28th, KFOR in close co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and the Ministry of Interior Affairs took action to unblock two roads near the Administrative Border Line, KFOR has said.
Periscope has also asked the Kosovo Police for the move, but so far they have not returned.
A replica for this cause, today in Interior Work Minister Jedal Svecla and Igor Sibius received the Security Commission From the Serbian List, where the latter highlighted the lack of free circulation for residents of the area.
Svechla in his response has said there are no alternative roads in the north, but there are illegal routes./ P ERISCOPI/
