Police were attacked four times within three days, from where the attacks came from and what was the reaction of Havenier, the EU, and KFOR.

Within three days, Kosovo Police border officials have been attacked four times in the country's north. The last attack was yesterday morning when they were making the switch. State leaders Ambassador Havenier, the European Union, KFOR and the OSCE have reacted to this attack. News has also been made in international media. At a conference [...]

At a joint conference with the Police Director, Interior Minister Xhelal Svechla announced yesterday that Kosovo border officials have been attacked in the north of the country while making the switch.

According to Svecla, they were attacked with hand grenades and Kalashnikov. He called these attacks, like <x0 terrorist”.

Kosovo Police Border Officers have today faced the fourth attack they have had within three days north of the country. All attacks have occurred in a certain geographic space, Zubin Potok until Brnjak. None of these terrorist attacks were aimed at intimidation, but the elimination of police officials was proven today, when their cars were attacked with hand grenades and KAK47-type Kalashnikov, Svecla later wrote on Facebook.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti reacted to the attack on the police. He said attacks on police for three consecutive days come from the Serbian territory.

For three straight days (13 - 15 April), Kosovo police officers have been attacked at the border crossing with Serbia. Yesterday and this morning, the hail of bullets and a hand grenade has been thrown toward the police. Our sources have identified that yesterday's attacks come from Serbia”, Kurti wrote.

Kurti has called on Serbia to condemn attacks on Kosovo police.

This will neither hinder us nor stop us from our fight to protect the rule of law against organised crime and corruption in the entire territory of our Republic. I call on Serbia to condemn and distance from violent terrorist attacks on our police, some of whom were Kosovo Serbs”, he wrote.

Even the Kosovo presidency has reacted after continuing attacks on the Kosovo Police in the country's north and efforts to prevent police operation in that part of the country, saying the attacks were carried out by criminal structures.

From the presidency, they say such attacks are intended to destabilise the security and political situation in the country, but stress that such efforts will fail.

The last “Days -- Serbia and its criminal structures -- have carried out several attacks against the Kosovo Police in the north. These actions, coupled with de-informative efforts, aim to destabilise the security and political situation in Kosovo. They will fail, the rule of law will prevail”, the presidency's response said.

Hüvenier's reactions, the EU, KFOR and O SBE)

The attack on the Kosovo Police in the north has also condemned the US ambassador to Pristina, Jeff Havenier.

Hüvenier has written that the US Embassy is deeply concerned about the armed attack on Kosovo's sovereign authorities.

The US “Embassy is deeply concerned by reports of shooting and throwing stones at Kosovo police officials near Zubin Potok. These attacks occurred when sovereign authorities responsible for maintaining peace and security were performing their official duties”, he wrote.

Hovnier has said he strongly condemns violence against Kosovo police and warns of speculations that would freeze tensions.

“We strongly condemn this unacceptable, unwarranted violence. Law enforcement officials are responsible for investigating the situation. We are warning against speculation that will increase tensions and condemn any attempt to prevent this crucial task”, Hadweier wrote.

Even the KFOR mission has strongly condemned attacks on Kosovo Police in the country's north and has expressed readiness to support the Kosovo Police if asked.

A KFOR official told Gazeta Express they expect the sides to refrain from actions that could escalate tensions.

KFOR's “mission strongly condemns the latest attacks on Kosovo Police members. We confirm our readiness to support the Kosovo Police, if necessary and requested”, KFOR official said.

He also said they expect the parties to refrain from actions that could escalate tensions.

“We expect all sides to act with responsibility and constructiveity, and to refrain from actions that could unnecessarily escalate tensions, negatively affect security in Kosovo and stability across the region. KFOR remains fully focused on the daily implementation of its UN mandate, to ensure a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for the benefit of all communities living in Kosovo”, KFOR official said in a response to Gazeta Express.

The European Union's office in Kosovo has strongly condemned what it named “violent attacks on a Kosovo Police patrol in the Zubin Potok municipality” in the early hours of 15 April.

Kosovo's “Police are the main security provider and the use of force against officials is unacceptable”.

The European bloc's office in Pristina has called on all sides to avoid unnecessary speculation, which could fuel even more tensions.

Even the head of O The SEU in Kosovo, Ambassador Michael Davenport, has reacted following attacks on Kosovo Police in the country's north.

He said the attack on police life is unacceptable, until he has called for the perpetrators to be captured and brought to justice.

Ox0 session The SEU in Kosovo is conveying with great concern the recent attacks on the Kosovo Police. Such ugly acts, directed against the lives of policemen whose task is to protect all people in Kosovo, are totally unacceptable. We call on all relevant institutions to focus efforts on identifying authors and putting them to justice”.
