Kurt and Osman are in charge of the state and not in religious institutions, so they have to trust the law and not what certain people say. So is the former prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo saying, Isa Mustafa, in regard to the Kosovo ambassador's case in Croatia, Martin Berishaaj and the Kosovo head of state's reaction. Mustafa has hit Kurti-Osman tandemin, saying both of them have created it by accusing people of crime, corruption and anything else without facts, and not believing in people. He adds that if it turns out to be true that Ambassador Berisha is involved in the scandal in Slovenia, then Kurti and Osmani must take responsibility.
After Slovenian media broke out the financial scandal, where the name of Kosovo's ambassador to Croatia is mentioned, Martin Berishaaj, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Osmani stood up for him. They said the ambassador would sue the media for slander and cut off the justice organs.
Former LDK leader Isa Mustafa said the proximity he is allegedly involved in is serious and harmful to Kosovo regardless of how it ends at the end.
According to Mustafa, the behaviour of Prime Minister Kurti and President Osmani yesterday is even more serious and irresponsible, as nobody is entrusted with state affairs but the law.
The “Apher is very heavy and harmful for Kosovo, despite its epilogue. The heavier and irresponsible is the behaviour of the President and the prime minister towards this relationship. That's not what heads of state do. They are not in it to believe or not to believe, they are not in religious institutions, they are in charge of the state, and they are obliged to explain the problem to the citizens. They owe it to Croatia too. In state affairs, nobody is trusted. Only the law, good or bad, is”, Mustafa said.
The former head of Pristina, recalled the time when Vetevendosje took power in Pristina and had charged him with 72 files.
“Prime Minister and President have not created their career by believing in people, but by accusing people of crime, corruption and anything that has come to mind. That's how they came to power. Not by fact verified by justice, but by political charges. Full of lies. These are the VV's who accused me of 72 Pristina municipality files, without any arguments. Don't count... ”, Mustafa said about Express.
He wished the relatives were not true, but that if they are proven otherwise the Kosovo state leaders should bear the responsibility.
Now starting with their lies, they think they should lie to others. I wish this relative wasn't real. But if proven, the responsibility will have to be carried by state leaders”, he said.
Speaking of the opposition's insistence after the ambassador's scandal to form the parliamentary Investment Commission for Energy, Mustafa said the government's energy trade does not lead only to a parliamentary commission, but must start the work of institutions that are under law enforcement.
What is being highlighted by the media with energy trading, I think it's not a job that only one parliamentary commission is in charge. It's the work of institutions which have a commitment to law enforcement. To do their job, not to be afraid of the pressure that power is putting on you. Neither does the warning of personal government tanks as the parallel organs of power face justice institutions”, said the former LDK chairman.
Ambassador Martin Berisha's case
The former member of Vetevendosje's leadership, who was appointed Kosovo's ambassador to Zagreb last year, is suspected to have been involved in a major financial scandal, for which Slovenian media medium Planet Tv has reported.
Kosovo's ambassador to Croatia before assuming this post had been appointed a member of the leadership of the Vetevendosje Movement.
Berishaaj has Slovenian citizenship and prior to his decree as ambassador to Croatia he has been granted Kosovo citizenship by President Vjosa Osmani. Berishaj took office as ambassador in December last year.
Now, Ambassador Berisha is allegedly involved in a financial scandal for money laundering in Slovenia. Today, in a brief Facebook post, Berisha has denied all charges.
Kosovo's ambassador to Croatia has allegedly transferred about 600 thousand euros of cash from his bank accounts in Montenegro to Slovenian politician Robert Golob, chairman of the Freedom Party.
Inevitably, the financial means, Berisha-owned UK Consulting Company, had been accepted by a Serbian energy company, GEN.
