Last week, Russian authorities approved a $41m programme to help employment in Moscow. This programme aims to provide training and temporary work, Sobyan said through a post on his blog.
Hundreds of Western companies have announced they will suspend their operations in Russia after the West imposed a series of sanctions against Moscow, due to Ukraine's unprotested invasion.
Sobyani said the new programme aims to support over 58,000 people who have lost their jobs, as the same have worked for foreign companies. He added that 12,500 of them will be trained.
Moscow's mayor said the works to be offered will include public work, such as some city organisations and others.
