The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation ( MASTI currently does not plan to review administrative directives that prohibit the carrying of religious uniform in schools, Deputy Minister Dukagjin Pupovci said.
However, he added that all children should be allowed to continue teaching in schools.
At a regular weekly media conference until asked whether MAST plans to change administrative direction, Pupovci has denied it.
“We do not want to send wrong messages to opinion now in that form that our school is not secular, because Kosovo's school, public school in Kosovo, is secular school and that should be respected already, and the rights of all children must be respected to continue schooling and are being carried out in that direction. There are times when I say that when situations happen that are unwanted for us but I think that with a quick response they are resolved otherwise we don't have a plan to review the instructions right now”, Deputy Education Minister said.
He said all children should be allowed to go to school.
“These instructions are present from 2008, you're referring to the recent version of 2014, where one of the stops, along with the mobile phone, extravagant clothing, and so on is carrying religious uniform, is simply the matter of interpreting what we consider to be religious uniform. It is now a big question of what extent the veil is part of the religious uniform, but one thing we have at least one thing that all children should be able to go to school, and it's being acted”, he said.
Among other things, the deputy minister of education has said that preliminary results have been announced on April 7th in selections of fourth-grade textbooks and nines for next school year.
Now according to him is the period of complaints before they are approved.
He has said that 77 Albanian, three Turkish-language manuscripts and five Bosnian-language manuscripts have entered the process.
Pupovci has also talked about ministry affairs over the past two weeks, where education and professional skills in Kosovo have benefited a 2m-euro amount from the Kosovo Challenge Fund, which is a regional project.
He has said that grants have been shared with development partners for four concorsions that have managed to benefit 2m euros.
Pupovci has added that grants are for investments made in equipment, infrastructure and training in educational and professional training institutions and stem from the Regional Challenge Fund, where Kosovo has earned 3m euros so far.
He has also announced that 16 working contracts have been signed with students of the Skenderaj Competence Centre for application of dual learning in a company, adding that this is a prerequisite for starting dual from next year's school.
