He says the Mental Health Centre should be in the middle of the community, not in the suburbs, so that customers will not be shut down.
Sami Rexhepi, director and neuropsykiater at the Mental Health Centre in Pristina for Online Economy, said that under the Mental Health Centre in Pristina, 1,800 people receive regular assistance.
“Under the Centre for Mental Health in Pristina operates the integration home in Fushesh Kosovo and in Drenas where they are extended by 10 patients, 20 total extended health care they receive 24 hours. And in Podujevo we have a mental health center that only provides daily services for our clients. The Pristina regime covers more or less 1/3 of Kosovo both on the surface and on the number of residents. At this center we are receiving regular assistance from 1800 registered clients, and we are talking about chronic psychiatric diseases that come in for rehabilitation and resocialisation”.
Rexhepi says the object they find themselves in is very small, and that it does not satisfy their needs or their demands.
The operation from the user's surface is very small, and this forces us that if the group is more than 10, 12 people the job is ineffective and we do not achieve the goal that is ahead of us. It is not enough to meet the needs and requirements for the town of Pristina, and much less for the Pristina region”.
Rexhepi proposes that a possible good location would have been in Velani in front of the health house.
“I have tried with the Pristina municipality to find a suitable location for building and a centre, I haven't had that understanding in the full sense of the word, even though promises have always existed that yes, not that there's a proper location”.
When I'm here, six ministers have changed, no one has said no. Everyone understands the importance of mental health, but it's the problem of the location that even anywhere else in the suburbs, these feel like they're left out, they won't have the effect. The location there at the beginning of Velani is like a hill, facing face to face with the health house is an untapped space, and there are populations around it, it would have been an ideal solution”.
