Kosovo Police General Director Samedin Mehmeti says attacks on Kosovo police officers in the north were intended to undermine anti-muggling shares.
There were four organised attacks in a territory that is connected and in countries that are very close to each other and the attacks are interconnected. This suggests that we are dealing with an organised group that aims to attack and prevent the work of the Kosovo Police and, with special emphasis, want to prevent our shares, which deal with the fight against smuggling and various illegal trades that are conducted in this part of the Kosovo border”.
Mehmeti, at a news conference, said details from the attacks as he said the same are interrelated.
“By April 13th 2022 around 7:30 in Mitrovica magistrate - Zubin Potok exactly between the village of Zubin Potok and the Kosovo Police patrol have come across the streets in welded-up, hard metal built to damage vehicle tires, 47 iris were located, which were placed in the middle of the road and allowed roadblocks to block and damage car tires”.
It's the time it happened when at 8: 00 p.m., the shift of our patrols operating at the Brnjak border points and other points that connect to illegal routes that we've closed some time ago:x1>.
The next “Sulmi occurred on the same day around 21:45, the border police unit until it has been returned from completing the shift in the village of Davidofc, which is located three miles from the village of Banja, at the Brnjak border crossing, has been stoned to the vehicle of border police patrol, has been damaged while there has been no injuries to”, Mehmeti said.
