LDK spokeswoman Sübel Halimi has said the government, having seized most of the institutions, has also ordered independent ones.
According to her, her legislative initiatives have one goal -- ensuring political control over all institutions and independent ones.
She has said the government's tendency to bypass the Venice Commission is disturbing.
The Venice Commission's “Anascrossment with the aim of continuing to capture institutions, and violating the Constitution for electoral gain is narrow for democracy”, it has said.
LDK MP Driton Selmanaj has expressed LDK concern for some legislative initiatives of the government led by Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
He at a media conference has said that, on the pretext for what he tried, the Government is trying to capture the state, respectively.
The concern is how the Venice Commission's recommendations are proved to be used for legitimising the poor goals of Kosovo institutions. We take the Bill for the Prosecutorial Council. The government has sent him to the Venice Commission, and yet without completing his job, the Government has prosecuted him in the Assembly. These people, although sent to the Venice Commission, still do not expect comments. We see it as the tendency to misuse”, he said, reports EO.
According to him, issues related to the KKP Bill will be brought to the Assembly for approval soon.
He has said this document should be withdrawn because its contents are classic for the capture of this institution.
“Proposation for the composition of the Prosecutorial Council. The way of their choice (political members at the KKP) is to be done in a simple majority. What's the main concern in this bill is a special majority. For significant voting, their discipline, their dismissal must be voted in majority qualified 5 out of 7 members, but that 3 of these 5 members should be 3 people who are not chief prosecutor. The LDK expresses its concern about the form of how this process has gone down so far without an effort for a political consensus. They have decided to submit a document and draft concept comments coming from the Venice Commission talk of serious problems”, he said.
Selmanaj has said that the assessment of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council has always been illegal, but that does not mean that on behalf of the capture an institution is seized.
The other “has to do with the Bill for the State Bureau for verification and seizure of illegal property. Opposition estimates force the Speaker of the Parliament to make a public pledge that this bill should not be voted and sent for comments to the Venice Commission. Such an organ cannot be guided by a single person and elected by a simple majority of”, he said.
