On the world health day, Prime Minister Albin Kurti praises doctors and himself, saying that Kosovo managed best in the region with all variants of the coronary.
“However, in the face of the three latest waves of the Corona virus, Kosovo -- more than any other country in the region -- has managed to keep human costs at minimum.
Initially, after accepting the task, our government has taken urgent measures to bring under control the wave of Alpha variant inherited from the previous government.
Then, during the tide of Delta variant, Kosovo was among the few countries in the world that managed to reduce nearly zero cases of this option, thus marking a significantly lower number of life losses than other Balkan countries, respectively, nearly 2.5 times lower per capita than the average of these countries.
While during the current wave of Omitron variant, our country is still managing to minimize the number of deaths of COVID-19, which stands almost six times lower per capita than the average of other countries in the region.
This success of Kosovo has not been just coincidence. The main merits are primarily to doctors, nurses, and other health workers. We are eternally grateful for their hard work, especially for the past two years.
Behind Kosovo's success in pandemic management lies an anti strategy - CO VID which can be called “vaxine-plus”. This strategy has two main elements. First, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, in co-operation with health institutions, has shown the scientific ingenuity and political courage to impose the most efficient measures of public health protection.
Second, and equally important, Kosovo's success has come as a result of an extremely successful mass vaccination campaign”, writes Kurti. /Periscopi
