British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has again held a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky this evening.
A Downing Street spokesman said: “Prime Minister spoke again this evening with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He praised Ukraine's bold armed forces for the successful postponement of the Russian invading army to a number of areas, but acknowledged the major challenges that remain and the endless suffering that is being inflicted on civilians“.
It also suggests that Boris Johnson informed Zelensky of the progress made at the military donors' conference and pledged to continue to boost defence support. President Zelensky underlined the importance of international aid, foreign media write.
President Zelensky also updated the status of peace negotiations and welcomed further involvement of the United Kingdom in these diplomatic efforts. Both leaders agreed on the importance of continuing to mount sanctions to increase economic pressure on Putin's war machine as long as Russian troops remain on Ukrainian territory. They pledged to stay in close contact and speak again in the following days”, the statement further states.
