Japan has imposed additional sanctions against Russia on Tuesday, blocking the assets of 398 Russian citizens, including President Vladimir Putin's two grown daughters, Katerina Tikhonokova and Mariya Vorontsova, according to an announcement by Japan's Foreign Ministry.
These new measures also include members of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's family, his wife, Mariya Lavova, and Yekaterina Vinokuro, respectively.
Japan has steadily expanded its sanctions against Russia since the beginning of the Ukraine invasion, including the ban on Russian imports such as coal and vodka, the reduction of new investments in Russia, and the freeze of active ones held by the main banks.
Other countries, including the US and Great Britain, have also imposed sanctions against Putin's families and Lavrov, writes CNN.
