This is his second birthday, which is away from family, friends and lovers, since he has been in The Hague since November 2020.
Thaci has been active since his youth in resisting the Serbian occupier.
The former head of state has led important processes for Kosovo's freedom and independence.
Hashim Thaci, as political director of the Kosovo Liberation Army, became one of the main protagonists of the “Rambouillet Agreement” and other agreements that brought Kosovo freedom.
Thaci, who was prime minister on February 17th 2008, also declared Kosovo's independence.
