The Greek Foreign Ministry has distributed several photos from the meeting, reportedly discussing economic co-operation and the dialogue process with Serbia.
“Meeting in the margin of the Delphii Economic Forum between Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Jashmte Minister Donika Grovalla. Discussions in economic co-operation and developments in the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue”, the Greek MPJ report said.
In his speech at Greece's Delphy Economic Forum on Friday, Kurti said Greece's recognition could bring new recognitions from other countries to Kosovo.
“We have good communication and co-operation with Greece, between the people of Kosovo and Greece, between the two governments. It's just a bridge we have to cross. It is time for Greece to recognise Kosovo. Before that and especially after recognition, we can boost economic co-operation and trade exchange. I think Greece is regional leaders and can help Kosovo get new recognition”, Kurti has said.
Kurti was also asked about the delay in visa liberalisation by the European Union for Kosovo citizens.
The “people are frustrated by the delay, and I myself have been critical, but we have no alternative. Our approach is membership in the European Union”.
As another objective of its government, Kurti has said it is also NATO membership.
“Hopefully we can contribute to the safety of the continent by becoming a NATO member”, Kurti, who once again condemned Russia's actions on Ukraine, has declared.
Prime Minister Kurti is standing in Greece on Thursday and has held meetings with Special Emissar for dialogue Miroslav Lajcak and State Department envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar.
