Taiwan's Army has published a civil protection manual for the first time Tuesday, providing citizens with instructions for protection from any kind of war scenario as Ukraine's Russian invasion has brought attention to how the island must respond to China's pressure, writes anews, records Periscope.
China has never been deterred by even the possibility of using force to bring Taiwan under its control and has increased military activities in the vicinity in the last two years to pressure to establish its claims on Taiwan's sovereignty.
The guide explains details about finding shelters through telephone applications, as well as water and food supplies, and also advice on how the tools are prepared for first aid.
Planning for the manual dates back to the start of Russia's attack on Ukraine, which has sparked debate on its implications for Taiwan and ways to increase readiness, such as reforms for training reserve soldiers.
“We are distributing information on how citizens should react to the military crisis and on possible circumstances that could come to”, Liu Tai-yi, an official from the Department of Defence for mobilization, said at a press conference.
Taiwan has not seen signs of any immediate invasion planned by China, but has stepped up readiness since the start of the war in Ukraine, which Moscow calls a special military operation <x0).
