An Austrian Foreign Minister's spokeswoman, Alexander Schallenberg, announced on April 7th that four Russian diplomats have been forced to leave the state due to their behaviour in opposition to diplomatic status.
Austria is the last country among many European Union states to have made similar decisions this week.
Unlike other EU states, including France, Italy and Germany, Austria did not show whether this decision was due to Ukraine's unprotested Russian invasion and alleged Russian atrocities in Ukraine.
Austria said Russian Embassy diplomats in Salzburg must leave the state until 12 April.
The EU states have expelled Russian diplomats following international condemnation of atrocities allegedly committed against Ukrainian civilians in Buka, north of Kiev.
Photos of civilians killed lying on the street have been published by Butka, where some of them had their hands tied to their backs.
Russia has denied that its troops have committed these murders, and since the beginning of the invasion on February 24th, it denies it targets civilians.
