The director of programmes in the non-government organisation “Democracy Plus”, Albert Krasniqi, has said that the way of the country's institutions reacted to the case of Ambassador Martin Berisha is disappointing.

After reporting on Kosovo's ambassador to Croatia, Martin Berishaaj, that he is involved in a financial scandal in Slovenia, Albert Krasniqi Director of Programmes in the non-government organisation “Democracy Plus”, has said the country's approach to the case is disappointing.

Thus Krasniqi has been declared at RTV Dukagjini, while saying that Kosovo is in an unpleasant diplomatic situation, we are dealing with a scandal that has been dealt with in all regional media, where Ambassador Berishaaj is taken as a central person in the midst of this scandal.

The state institutions' response to this scandal has been disappointing for me. The first is the double standard used for people who belong to Vetevendosje, for them the presumption of innocence is worth, while others have been courted since then and the principle of presumption of innocence is not worth”, he said.

Regarding the case in question, Kransiqi has stressed that the damage to Kosovo on the diplomatic level is multiple.

We undermine our diplomatic activity in Croatia as well. There will be reservations for the Croatian state itself to host because it concerns activities of a hostile state even against Croatia. It means Serbia and a company with headquarters in Belgrade, which is considered by Prime Minister Kurti himself as an energy mafia of the Balkans”, Krasniqi added.

The next issue he considers is the damage caused to the ambassador's activities in Slovenia.

It should clarify any activity it has, any meeting for the case in Kosovo”.

“Justice may be delayed in our justice”

Krasniqi has said that Kosovo should be represented by the second person who is in the highest diplomatic hierarchy in order not to increase the damage.

He has singled out the defence of Kosovo state institutions to be unacceptable towards Ambassador Berishaaj.

The Minister Gervala protects the ambassador but says he has not yet talked to him. For me this is unacceptable and the least that has had to happen in this case is that the ambassador had to call for counseling in the country, a process that would last much longer not only a written consultant”.

On the other hand, Berisha's denial, which has called this charge a lie, Krasniqi does not see it as his clarification.

“Here is required to be but it has not yet been made, today there is no request from the ambassador to come and report on the case, the denial he did is simply denial, there has been no explanation of the case in question, no counterargument in what is claimed by that medium and the country there to be represented by the second person who is in the highest diplomatic hierarchy, not to damage the” activity.

“Waiting for justice, may be late on our diplomacy, damage may be much greater, what if the Croatian state pronounces the person non grata Berisha, and what if convicted when the prime minister's president has defended”, Krasniqi said.

What is Berisha accused of?

According to Slovenian media, Berisha has become part of a scheme, where money sent by a Serbian company was transferred to another Montenegrin company, whose owner is Kosovo Ambassador Martin Berisha.

It is about the Malaysian company MB Consulting, whose sole owner and worker is Kosovo's ambassador to Croatia, Martin Berisha.

The withdrawal of money by Ambassador Berisha, according to Slovenian media, was made by two accounts.

Martin Berishaaj is an Albanian of Montenegro. He has now been appointed Kosovo's ambassador to Croatia for four months.
