Former General of NATO, Wesley Clark, has congratulated us on the 23rd anniversary of NATO's intervention into the ethnic cleansing that Slobodan Milosevic's regime was conducting in Kosovo.
In a highly emotional video to the people of Kosovo, Mr. Clark said he is working hard to keep the international community focused, as well as in Kosovo, in these difficult times after the situation in Ukraine.
The following parts, transliterated Periscope:
I am especially proud of all of you in Kosovo, of the democratisation you have done, of the challenging economic development you have undertaken, and I am especially grateful for the friendship you have shown to the United States.
To me, it was an honor of my life to be the commander of NATO and I had the opportunity to help stop ethnic cleansing.
I'm upset to find out that our former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright has passed away.
I met President Clinton, and three days ago I was with Tony Blrig.
We were all together and we all thought that 23 years ago NATO did the right thing.
We did the right thing for the people of Kosovo, we did the right thing for NATO, for the world.
We're in another crisis today.
When I was in Kosovo last year, I talked with many members of the government about Ukraine and events.
Today all attention is focused on Ukraine, but I am working hard to keep our focus on Kosovo.
You still need, we love you and want you to have the best for your democracy, for your lives as members of the international community.
So all our congratulations, all the blessings from the United States on this important day.
We'll do everything we can to support”, Clark said, on video the message that has distributed the official page of the Republic of Kosovo.. /Periscope
