Kosovo mufti Naim Ternava has reacted to the Russian invasion in Ukraine, saying the nightmare and terror the Ukrainian people are experiencing are grave warning for mankind.
Ternava has said Russian aggression in Ukraine is unacceptable.
With attention and concern I have followed the exit of the situation in Ukraine. Makthin and the terror experienced by Ukraine's people under threat of Russian military machinery is a black omen warning harsh days for mankind, primarily for unarmed Ukrainian citizens. The images of city and civilian population promotions, long ranks of citizens leaving their homes and shelters, as well as innocent victims in the ranks of civilians, for us are unacceptable, because only two decades ago, we've gone through such a situation”, he wrote on Facebook.
He has appealed the entire international factor to choose peace and tolerance before the war and bloodshed.
“I pray and appeal to all international factors, that prior to the war and bloodshed choose peace before the conflict choose understanding and tolerance, prior to suffering and destruction, to choose peace and stability. We beg God that the current situation in Ukraine be solved by peaceful political means and the world of mankind be more calm and safer”, Ternava said.
Mufti Ternava has said that all of us must say “not” war.
“Peace and tranquillity for the people of Ukraine, to avoid bloodshed, destruction and unrest, to say strongly No war”, is over.
