“Slovakia has decided to expel three members of the Russian Embassy staff”, Slovak Foreign Ministry spokesman Juraj Tomaga has said.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs... at the same time, calls on the Russian Federation Embassy for its representatives to carry out their duties in accordance with the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations”, the ministry has said through a statement, without providing additional details.
A Slovak site has said without quoting its sources that the three outcasts allegedly were spying on Russia.
Slovak police and prosecutors have announced they will hold a press conference Tuesday to provide more information on the case.
Minister of Defence in Slovakia Jaroslav Nad, has said he could confirm that military intelligence has offered police “key information related to this case”.
This is just the beginning. I believe the structure is well opened. We're going to continue”, Nad said.
The Russian Embassy in Bratislava has not yet commented on this situation. / REL
