On March 16th, the Council of Europe expelled Russia from membership because of military aggression against Ukraine, a day after the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe unanimously approved the thought that Russia could no longer be a member of that organisation.
Serbia's Foreign Ministry has not responded to the Beta agency's question of how its representatives have voted in the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers when the decision to expel Russia has been made.
Serbia's representatives are on the meeting list, but according to Beta, they have left the meeting before they are declared.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe earlier unanimously adopted the thought that Russia could no longer be a member of the organisation. Out of a total of 324 members, 219 voted, out of them 216 “pro” and three abstained. According to data published on the Council of Europe page, none of the seven Serbian deputies have voted.
