Russian journalist auctions his Nobel Prize

Muratov, who was honoured with the Nobel Peace Prize in 2021 for his struggle to preserve the truth as a journalist, has announced this announcement in his newspaper on 22 March.
I call on auction groups, who are interested in this world-renowned price, to contact us”, said Muratov, who has won the award along with Maria Resan, cofounder of the Rapler website, which is known as the platform against the Philippines Government.
Muratov and Novaya Journal have announced this announcement, also calling for the implementation of five measures in Ukraine: ceasefire, exchange of prisoners, repatriation of the dead, creation of humanitarian corridors and providing aid to refugees”.
Tens of thousands of Russian troops have invaded Ukraine since Moscow launched attacks on February 24th.
Since early March, Muratov and his newspaper have avoided reporting the situation in Ukraine due to censorship and the threat of criminal judgment by journalists who do not follow the government line.
Russian media regulator Roskomnadzor has halted describing Russia's actions as invasion or war and has said they should be considered part of <x0 military special operation”.
A law recently supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin envisions prison sentences of up to 10 years for individuals convicted of such offences.
The sentence for what authorities consider to be “false information” for the Russian Army, which leads to “serious consequences” amounted to up to 15 years in prison. / REL
