“Russia, terrorist state led by a war criminal”

Ukraine's ambassador to the US, Oksana Markarova, has attacked Russia for its country's invasion, saying it is “a terrorist state led by a war criminal”, CNN writes.

Well, you know, it's obvious to us that Russia is a terrorist state led by a war criminal and we're working day and night and struggling hard to protect our land and protect our democracy. And everyone must be brought to justice”, she said, referring to the International Criminal Tribunal with whereabouts in the Netherlands.

Markarova added that Russian forces “are killing civilians, killing children, destroying our hospitals, you know, civilian infrastructure, residential homes, everywhere. It's a war criminal act, so we've opened an investigation into Ukraine, so Ukraine has submitted all the requests in all international courts. And, yes, Vladimir Putin, along with everyone, every Russian responsible for him will have to end up in prison for these war crimes”.

Comments come just a month after Russia began its war in Ukraine and several days after the US also declared that members of the Russian armed forces have committed war crimes in Ukraine.
