But when was the first and only time Putin was in Kosovo?
Russian President Vladimir Putin made an unplanned stop in Kosovo in June 2001.
The visit came after he accused Albanians of being “terrorists” and blamed them for undermining the order and stability of the region.

Putin landed at Pristina Airport after visiting Belgrade. His visit was announced at the last minute due to security concerns from his staff.

On his arrival, Putin was greeted by an honourary Russian guard with white gloves and Russian national anthem. Part of the visit were Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov and Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov.

While at the airport, Putin decorated several Russian soldiers and then met with one of the NATO commanders, General Leger Danez. /Gazza Express/
