Russia's President Vladimir Putin, in a conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, has said he is going to Ukraine, adding the number “to mercenaries from Kosovo”.
In a communique released to the media by the Kremlin on Friday, Putin has said Russia is registering an increasing number of “mercenaries from third countries, in particular from Albania and Croatia, militants from Kosovo and even war-enriched jihadists from Syria”.
This is the first time Russia claims mercenaries from Kosovo and Albania are fighting in Ukraine. However, claims were exposed by institutions in the country. The defence ministry has called for citizens not to fall victim to Russian disinformations.
During the day, the German government announced that Scholz has asked Putin to immediately halt all military action in Ukraine.
