Proposed the new pattern of lehonia permit, the father should have allowed a month's pay break

In the debate on the Labour Law-discretions regulating the permission of leonynia and parental permission for employees organised by the Women's Economic Forum (WEF) in collaboration with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and the Stability Initiative was stressed that women are discriminated against in the labour market even when interviewed.

Adelina Tarshan of the Kosovo Women's Network said the current labour law allows employers to discriminate against women. In cooperation with other organizations, it has presented recommendations for the pattern of lehonia permit.

What we recommend as a forum along with the FES and IKS is that in the first six months of the permit, it is considered a hall pass for the mother. In the first period of lehonia, a father may have the right to enjoy a month's rest of his paid fatherhood permit, which can be obtained before or after the birth of a child. In addition, the following six months should be considered parental permission to encourage equal permission from both parents. In line with the European Union's directive on labour balance, a month should be taken from the father even if it is untransmitted, it cannot be transferred to the mother. During the past three months, free fares have been envisioned, at least one in three months should be taken from the father and cannot be transferred to mother”, she presented.

Tarshan added that leonyming and parenting should be addressed with the Labour Law.

The chairman of the Commission for Health and Social Goodness, Fatmire Muharja Kolcak, who said everything related to work must be addressed with this law.

In discussing the Labour Law provisions regulating leonynia and parental permission for employees, Besa Luzha from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation said that by current law, they have observed great discrimination among women in the labour market.

While Sajidie Mustafa from the Women's Economic Forum said that one of the barriers why women are out of the labour market is the Labour Law.

From the Ministry of Finance, Labour and Transfers, Klit Shala pledged that they are working with priorities for drafting this law.
