Promoting women's role through trauma

This project, conceived and funded by KEDS, has been implemented by the organisation of the Macedonian artists.

We have actually painted seven trafos in the seven main cities of Kosovo. Each carries a message that involves empowering the role of the woman. We know that a woman's role is not what she should be. We each need and obligation to work in that direction to achieve equality, therefore empowering the role of women”, said ECDS spokesman Viktor Buzhala.

Swiss artist Chrystel Suire, works in Kosovo for three years now and has given himself the artistic name “Stern” She, while coloring the exercise in downtown Prizren, was using art to highlight numerous messages raising the voice of the Kosovo woman and causing him to echo.

We aim to highlight women's strength and show that women can do whatever they want in life.

Then passions or men's work. We women have great power. And that's the point of these traphos. I always draw these chips and they're on male activity, like she's snoeboarding, then we have an engineer, then a cook, a doctor, then a driver. Just to show that we are equal, and if we have the will we can do the same as men”, the Swiss artist points out.

Even artist Renea Begolli has joined this initiative in order to strengthen the role of women in society.

This project is part of the “Art n trafo” that started it KEDS, along with the QÉart organisation since last year. So far, 27 trafos have been painted throughout Kosovo, mostly in Pristina. Today, those trafos have urban views and carry messages to themselves promoting the advancement of Kosovo society and decorating the localities where they are located.
