Sullivan said this would promote NATO's Article 5, which says an attack on a NATO ally would be seen as an attack on all allies.
“If there is a military attack on NATO territory, it would trigger Article 5's call and we would bring the full strength of the NATO alliance to respond to him”, he has told CBS.

This response comes just hours after Russian forces fired 30 missiles on a base used by NATO only 15 miles from the Polish border and territory of NATO.
