He submitted to wounds received several days later, and a Western official who wanted to remain anonymous said he was killed by his troops.
The commander of the 37th Brigade has been hit by a Russian convoy. He has suffered severe injuries on both legs.
The commandant of the brigade was killed by his troops because of the losses his brigade suffered. We believe he was deliberately killed by his soldiers by crossing with a tank”, an unidentified Western official told Polytico.
According to some media reports, the Russian commander was hit by a tank run by soldiers he commanded and then transferred for treatment to Belarus, where he underwent the wounds.
Along with the commander of the 37th Brigade, reports from Ukraine show that the colonel general leading a large Russian unit was killed in battle, making him the seventh Russian general to be killed since the beginning of the invasion.
Russia's Defence Ministry has earlier announced that the first phase of the war in Ukraine has largely ended and will focus on “the complete liberation<x1nd of the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine.
