US is not optimistic about peace talks, does not believe in Russia's success

Russia said it would drastically cut its military activity focused on Kyiv and Chernihiv, while some sources have told the Financial Times that Russia is canceling its plans to change the regime in Ukraine.
However, the United States does not seem so optimistic. State Secretary Antony Blinken said the US has not seen signs of true “ity from Russia, adding that there is a difference between what Russia says and what it does, and the US is focused on the latter, British media write.
The West has been largely sceptical of Russian promises, including earlier promises of temporary ceasefire to allow the evacuation of civilians, which have not always been maintained and has even been shot at civilians in “alleged humanitarian corridors”.
