Two customs officials are among those arrested during the “Pika” operation in Prizren's Gjakova, under suspicion that they committed criminal acts “mimging” and “abuse of office or official authority”.
Kosovo Customs has supported this action by the Police Inspectorate.
Through a media communiqué, Kosovo Customs says it is grateful to the Inspectorate's work in investigating this case and will proceed with regular co-operation with the Inspectorate, police and other law enforcement institutions.

Kosovo Customs has supported the Kosovo Police Inspectorate in the operation of arresting border officials in Rajonet Gjakova and Prizren, where two customs officials have also been arrested for allegedly committing criminal acts of acquisition and use of duty or official authority.
Kosovo's customs is grateful to the work of the Police Inspectorate in investigating this case and will proceed with regular co-operation with the Inspectorate, Police and other law enforcement institutions within and abroad.
Kosovo's customs implements rigorous policies that effectively discourage corruption practices and non-professive behaviour, as well as take priority actions aimed at combating corruption and harmful practices and non- professional behaviour.
On this consideration, the Director General of Customs has taken action to suspend arrested customs officials immediately and to launch disciplinary administrative proceedings.
