American officials, speaking anonymously, had said Russia has sought help with military equipment from China.
“Putin has ordered restraint against immediate attacks on major cities because civilian losses would be high”, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, adding that the defence minister's “does not rule out the possibility of full control of major cities”.
Peskov said some of Ukraine's main cities are already surrounded by Russian forces and that Russia's plans will be completely fulfilled in the timeframe designed.
