EU spokesman for Foreign Policy and Security Issues Peter Stano said Tuesday, 22 March at the European Commission press conference, that the European Union expresses regret over what he has called Kosovo's “decision to reject the QUINT proposal” for Serb voting in Kosovo's territory for elections in Serbia.
“The EU has acted as a facilitator, the High Representative was committed to making contacts for practical solutions that would enable dual citizens to participate in the election. We have made efforts to find practical solutions using the analogys that were placed at the polls in the past”, the EU spokesman has said, claiming Serbia has played a constructive role and Kosovo has refused.
“Acknowledging that Serbia has been open to finding a solution, we express regret that the consensus between the parties at the end was not reached after Kosovo's decision to reject Quint's constructive proposal”, the EU spokesman has said.
