The Ministry of Industry, Undertaking and Trade has announced that through the Market Inspectorate it has continued inspections over weekend days.
According to MINT, the purpose of inspections in this period continues to be to verify the prices of basic products for the consumer basket.
“During Saturday's inspections, market inspectors have encountered irregularities concerning the gaping of shelf prices, fraud over announced discounts, and in some products has lacked declaration in Albanian, so in each case punitive measures have been taken in accordance with the laws in force. MINT thanks all consumers who continue to address their complaints at the Consumer Protection Department. At the same time, it assures consumers that the Market Inspectorate will be active in the interest of consumer protection, the elimination of unfair trade practices, the protection of fair competition and in co-operation with market inspectors in municipalities, will continue inspections throughout Kosovo, and in any case when irregularities are found, punitive measures will be taken in accordance with the law in force”, the ministry's announcement said.
