Is there hope for health insurance, the opposition: Government has no priority of this sector

With the appointment of a Kosovo surgeon who has worked in America, Prime Minister Kurti has increased expectations that health -- a sector that has bad jobs in Kosovo -- can improve. However, Rifat Latifi, although not faced with anyone, is experiencing criticism for lack of proper management, with the dictatorship being charged. [...]
He's been mentioned often to <x0oc” and the presentation, but no questions have been missed about what the MSH has done for the functioning of the Health Insurance Fund and Health Information System.
The Health Ministry has told Gazeta Express that this system has already been extended and implemented at the primary health care level.
“As far as the Health Information System is concerned, this system is extended and implemented at primary health care level and in some segments even on other levels, such as Basic HEIS, while expected to be a detailed analysis of the further development of this system, which through its modules has given a good push to the anti-mination process. COVID-19 in Kosovo generating the necessary data, processing it and facilitating vaccine”, the MS's response to Express.
Linked to health insurance, the MS say they are in the process of finalising the bill on completing and changing the Health Insurance Law, which they think is expected to be submitted for approval in Government this year.
“Where, in the process, the Bill on Fulfilling and Changing Law No. 04/L-249 for Health Insurance, which, according to the 2022 legislative agenda, this year must go to the Government of Kosovo for approval and prosecution to next visit to the Kosovo Assembly. It is intended that the draft law on completing and changing the Health Insurance Law, send it to Government this year's pre-term, and after its approval even in the Assembly to continue with preparations for implementing public health insurance scheme”, it is said further in response.
That the adoption of the Health Insurance Law is an urgent matter is being said by the member of the Kosovo Parliament's Health Commission, Shemsedin Dresaj.
In a statement issued for the Express, he said he has long sought by the Government to urgently address the issue.
“We have urgently requested bringing this law from the executive, but the government has not yet brought this law”, he said.
Furthermore, Dresaj was also declared for the work of Minister Latifi at the ministry's helm. According to him so far, nothing positive has been seen from him.
The government does not have priority health. Health should be managed actively, with a clear strategy and all steps should be taken at the right time. So appropriate action at the right time. This hasn't happened in the Ministry. The ministries can be governed and managed in various ways, not just physically. But we're not seeing anything positive from Mr. Latifi”, Dreshai said.
Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Memli Krasniqi said yesterday that the government has promised the foundation of the Health Insurance Fund, but that it is not even now in the agenda.
“has pledged the foundation of the Health Insurance Fund. Today is not in the agenda. Instead, we can only talk about mismanagement of the pandemic, cutting the health budget in pandemic time, suspicious contracts, and lack of strategy and health vision”, Krasniqi said.
For failing to mention the Fund for Health Insurance, criticism has also taken place by the chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku.
According to him, the situation in the health sector continues to be heavy.
The situation in the health sector continues to be heavy. In 2021 alone, 159 doctors have released Kosovo, while in just one month and 45 other doctors have fled the country this year. The difficulties in meeting the USKKUK statute's amendment, as well as the failure in the process of completing the health law change, are deepening the failure of this incompetent government. So far, no step has been taken at the founding of the Fund for Health Insurance; and Kosovo hospitals continue to remain with a severe lack of drugs from the essential” list, he said.
