Arian Vranica of the Kosovo Gastronomous Association says of Kosova Prees, that the rise will be in all gastronomy.
It's not just going to increase the price of machiato, it's up to almost all of the products in the gastronomy sector as a result of the high cost of production and high cost of transportation and supply, which affects the purchase of products from suppliers. It's not a kind of decision, it's gradually, it goes in line with the situation and the crisis that's just going on deepening. We've also seen the prices of oil, flour, sugar, salt and coffee”, says Vranica.
While awaiting meetings with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce, Vranica calls for the Government to reconsider their demands.
“Not the point with the risk of consumption, but we have no choice. Either prices should be increased or infomity increased within businesses that want to maintain price stability. The government, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Enterprises consider removing or lowering some of the taxes, cost of production... TVS at 8 % would be an extraordinary support for our sector and citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, so that we can get as quickly as we can out of this crisis situation that is deepening every day and more”, he said.
The owner of a coffee shop in the capital, Faton Osmani, says of Kosova Preris, that they will not only increase in coffee, but also in food.
The reason we're going to grow coffee is people have a lot of low wages 250-300 euros, I don't know how they're surviving, so we still haven't got a hundred percent more expensive coffees, but it's seen to be a Russian-Ukrainian war and import-export is slower and we've taken it into account. We haven't talked to the gastronomy office yet, so when we make the decision, we'll grow coffee. When we make the decision, we will increase our coffees, not only our coffees, but also our food section”, he said.
