The French government has called on its citizens to leave Russia, the cause of escalation of the situation in Ukraine.
Other countries have made similar calls.
The United Kingdom Foreign Ministry “argues against any travel across Russia”, due to difficulties in moving away from the country and what they describe as the “increasing instability” of the Russian economy.
The same is advised by the American State Department, citing numerous factors including “potential for harassment against American citizens by Russian government security officials”.
