Details of sanctions have not been detected, but the French delegation declares on Twitter that trade preferences will be withdrawn from Russia, Reuters reports.
This could open the door for the EU to impose a ban on Russian goods and thus put Russia in an equal position with North Korea or Iran, Reuters adds.
According to diplomatic sources, sanctions will include the ban on Russian steel and iron import, as well as the ban on export of luxury goods to Russia, including cars more expensive than 50,000 euros, and that investments in oil and energy companies will no longer be allowed.
