The Czech Republic will send additional military assistance to Ukraine, the defence minister, meanwhile, said the neighbouring state, Slovakia, is considering the possibility of sending air defence systems to Kiev on Sunday.
Czech Defence Minister Jana Cernochova said her state, which is in NATO, has only sent military assistance worth $355m.
I think, at least, we're going to double that figure”, she said, giving no further details about remittances after being called into security concerns.
Last month Chekhia has sent machine guns, rifles, ammunition and some other undeserved weapons to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, in Slovakia, NATO member, US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin will remain on March 16th.
Slovakia's Prime Minister Edward Heger said on Sunday that during this visit, they will likely discuss the possibility of sending S-300 missile defence systems to Ukraine, which Slovakia owns. These systems are produced in Soviet times.
I think this topic [Sending S-300 systems to Ukraine] will be discussed. But you must understand that the security of the territory is central and you simply cannot send equipment to someone else if you don't have equipment to protect yourself”, he said.
This is about supporting and strengthening Ukraine, even morally... And at the same time to offer additional assistance, if possible”, he added.
